I'm sure the new arena is very nice.

Indeed.

Do I need to hear, in my bedroom, over the noise of the air conditioner, a ceiling fan, a television, a box fan, an upright fan (ok, I like air flow), a computer fan, a fish tank, two dogs panting, two people breathing, the dishwasher running, cars driving, Georgia 400.....

an extended drum solo on a holiday Monday night at eleven p.m.?

I don't fucking think so.

Nuisance Ordinance!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. I am truly surprised that you can hear it at your house. That is bad.

MrM - I have this long chain of emails back and forth with the city of Alpharetta and the staff at the amphitheater telling me that they have been taking readings in my neighborhood and that they are within what is allowed by law. I hold that the law allows for too much. It really was bad on Monday. You know how bands now do the encore with the extended instrument solos - "here's lars, our drummer...." - well, that was Monday night at about ten forty five and I swear I was literally about to drive over there and shoot him myself. I mean, my house is not quiet. We have computers and fans and fans and dogs and tvs and air conditioners and all sorts of OTHER noise it has to be heard over. To be honest, I thought it was the stereo of the kids across the street but when it DIDN'T stop I realized it was the arena AGAIN. Normally, I can just kinda hear it outside. Just enough to realize that's what it is. I could hear the Eagles the week before...not enough to pick out a song but enough to go "oh, it must be the Eagles concert".

Pandora - it's not really that close, that's the kicker.
